Dans ce second volet super palpitant, j'ai été transportée dans un univers encore plus intense et sombre que le premier tome. L'histoire de Lila, une scientifique écologiste, et d'Ethan, un ranger attentionné mais marqué par ses propres démons, nous captive dès les premières lignes. Envoyée en mission, Lila croise la route d'Ethan. Leur collaboration, d'abord pro, se transforme vite en une montée en tension et en passion. Parviendront-ils à surmonter leurs blessures pour affronter ensemble les dangers qui les guettent ?
Les personnages sont ultra profonds et authentiques. Lila est courageuse, déterminée, et elle touche vraiment par sa force et sa sensibilité. Ethan, de son côté, est hyper attachant avec son mélange d'autorité et de bienveillance. Leur relation, intense et sans compromis, est le vrai moteur du récit, à la fois captivant et émouvant. En plus, quel plaisir de retrouver le couple Sinead et Liam, toujours aussi attachants, et de découvrir Sophia, un nouveau personnage hyper intrigant qui apporte un vrai plus à l'intrigue.
Franchement, la plume de l'autrice est encore une fois une pépite. Son style hyper cinématographique et addictif nous plonge dans l'action et les émotions comme si on y était. Les rebondissements s'enchaînent tellement bien qu'il est impossible de lâcher le livre avant la fin !
